Mogadishu – (warsoor) – United Nations Refugee Agency’s High Commissioner, Flippo Grandi has today on Sunday arrived in the Somali Capital Mogadishu, SONNA reported.
State Minister of foreign Affairs of the Somali Federal Government, H.E. Abdukadir Ahmed Kheyr welcomed the UNHCR delegation, saying the Commissioner will be here in the capital for two days and will meet Somali President and Prime, then fly to Kismayo town.
“UNHCR will assist repatriated refugees and Internally Displaced People, it is an important visit, UNHCR head will trip to Kismayo after Mogadishu”, Mr. AhmedKheyr said.
UNHCR head Mr. Grandi said that they are working for assisting and developing of Somali refugees
“I am delighted to come here in Somalia and this is MY second term to visit Somalia, we will assist Somali refugees who were repatriated and IDPs in the camps, and give them nationwide capacity building”, Mr. Grandi said.
United Nations Special Envoy to Somalia, Micheal Keating and Somali Ambassador to Geneva, Mrs. Fadumo Abdulahi Insaniya were in attendance according to SONNA
